This and that

Happy Holidays!  About a week to go - we are nearly ready.  

Not much new around here.  My girl is sick - hoping that the baby boy & I steer clear of it.  I don't want a sick family on Christmas.  I hope she doesn't have to miss Santa at school on Friday, but it looks like that's probable at this point.  :(

Catch up

Well - I know it's been a while.  First there was the week without internet, then my camera went missing and now it's just hard to find a few minutes when both of my kids are asleep at the same time.  As I wrote that my baby boy woke up....  

Getting into the Christmas spirit around here.  We have our tree up, just waiting on my husband to put the tree topper on.  I will post some tree pics soon.

Tiny post

No new pics on the computer yet.  I will get some new ones on this week.  I got a brand new computer (I'm so thrilled) then I was without internet for about a week and I was going crazy.  All is back to normal now so I've got some catching up to do....

October 28, 1979

On this date 29 years ago a very special boy was born. I can still remember sitting on the couch with my Grandma watching the headlights leave the carport outside as my parents left for the hospital. How I miss that kid! Happy Birthday Little Brother.

Little Update

Well no new photos to post at the moment. I am pleased to report that the family is nearly all healthy again. My girl is going back to school tomorrow so let's see how long it lasts!

We have a few fun things scheduled this week and of course Friday is Halloween so we should have some great new pics to post soon.

Defending the neighborhood

My girl and her daddy driving around the neighborhood in Uncle Dooley's Defender... That's her little hand waving at me :) She's still sick, but getting better little by little. All that's left is a pesky cough.

My boy is getting very good at putting his thumb in his mouth. It's really cute for now... He'll be 3 months old tomorrow! Might try to post a 3 mo pic of him tomorrow.

Fever, AGAIN!!!

Sheesh - this preschool thing might do my head in. My girl has a fever AGAIN. Low yesterday and again today but it seems to be creeping up a bit today. She just fell asleep in my arms which she never does unless she isn't well. AGHHHH.

My little guy has decided to take catnaps the past couple days. Last night bedtime was a nightmare - I finally got a very restless baby down and turned out the light at 1:21 am at which time I was beginning to question my sanity. It's amazing what a few hours sleep can do for you because I felt mostly back to normal (term used very loosely!) at 7am when he woke to eat. I think he was out of sorts because he was so over tired. It's been catnaps again today but he's sleeping now so we will see how it goes. Wish me luck, pray for me, whatever it is that you do. I can't handle many more nights like last night!

No photos to post today, my husband has relocated my computer so that he can access the internet on his PS3. My photo storage (external drive) hasn't been relocated as yet and I'm too lazy to go and get it right now.

BTW - since I've been blogging again I haven't received one single comment on my blog. So if you are reading this, please send me a comment now and then.

Ahhhhhhh, October....

Our rainy month has arrived. For me, it is a welcome break from sweltering summer days. I can sit inside, turn the air down and imagine a cool fall day outside! Usually when the rain is over and November rolls around, the intense heat is gone and the nice island breeze returns. Then we can once again enjoy the outdoors here....without having to be at the beach.

Our Halloween decorations are out and our little girl is THRILLED! She loves "her Halloween stuff"! I've kept the decorations confined to our dining room. Normally they are scattered throughout the house, but the oranges and blacks and purples seem to clash with the soothing pale aqua that the rest of the house is painted.

Where, oh where has my little blog gone?

Can't believe 10 days has passed since my last post... Time is flying!

The baby boy is over his fever and just has a few bouts daily with a stuffy nose. His nose is so tiny though, that it doesn't take much at all to make it stuffy! Hopefully that will all pass by the end of the week.

On the other hand my girl has an ear infection. First one. Thankfully with our quick action she didn't suffer much pain. We had her to the doctor within hours of the pain setting in (thanks to her daddy for that!) and between the Motrin & antibiotics has been very well today. She'll be back at school tomorrow. We had fun putting our halloween decorations in the dining room today. Would usually wait until October had officially begun, but these days you gotta do it when you get a chance! Plan to post some pics of that later in the week (when October has begun).

First fever...

My little boy has his first fever! His big sis has a cold and looks like he caught it. So sad :( So far he's been acting like it isn't bothering him much. Hopefully it stays that way. So no pics for now but should have some before the end of the weekend. Gotta get my girl in bed.

Beach day

Took the kids to the beach earlier today. It was the baby boy's first time there. It was very hot so we kept him in the shade.

Our big girl had fun playing in the sand and building a sandcastles (I called it a sand village) with her Daddy.

The fresh air got to him and he took a nice little nap al fresco.

Laundry time....

The baby had a very poopy day yesterday. We had to change 3 poopy outfits. This coupled with how behind I am on laundry led to this:

Notice the toes. I had to cut them out because all his larger pj's were dirty. Poor little guy!

Thankfully Memaw had helped us out (as she always does!) and his dirtys were in the wash at the time. Now we have lots of clean things. :)

I had a lovely lady come to clean yesterday - yeah!! I'm trying to line up some new help since Beverly went to Jamaica over a month ago and still isn't sure when she's coming back... So hopefully the housework will get back in order and the laundry will get caught up before long ;-)

I got this cute little necklace. I made my wishes and I'm wearing it now. I love it!

Got these outfits for the little guy. The brown set is soooooo soft, great for travelling. How clever was that adding a bag of coffee to the loot?? Wish I could drink it...... There are many more but I'm just showing you a few of my faves.

Look at her new apron - was soo nice that she got a few new things in the boxes too.

Here is the latest pic of our little one. He went for a check up yesterday and one heartbreaking immunization (geez I hate those!!). He's a whopping 11lbs 6 oz now and is in the 50th %ile in all his measurements. So an average sized, well proportioned boy :)

Back home, etc...

Last week we decided to take the kids to Florida until Hurricane Gustav was out of our area. It was the baby boy's first plane ride at only 6 weeks old!

He got to meet Aunt Dot-Dot and boy do we miss her being around!

Our friend Stephanie drove down to meet him too.

He was introduced to Target, the mall & Walmart - poor little guy!

On the way home, we stayed with our friends in Tampa and got to meet their 2 puppies, Fred and Ginger with whom we all fell completely in love with! There might have to be a mini Dacshund in our future....
The day after we got back Sophie started preschool. We are glad to be back in school!

7 months later.....

and a lot has changed. Most notably the birth of our son...

We also bought a house and moved into it in April.

I've been feeling lately like I might be able to start up this blogging thing again. I completely lost the ambition to do so while I was pregnant but I'm going to give it another go. I'm still short on sleep and time but we will see how it goes - it's a nice way to share photos with my friends & family.

Here's our big girl! She starts preschool on Sept. 1st.

It's been a lazy, rainy Sunday here. The little guy has been napping nicely giving me a little time to do a few things (laundry).

So here's my 2nd intro blog - we will see how things go this time!

Happy New Year

Well here we are in 2008. I'm finally getting around to posting a little something. I hope to get some of our holiday pics posted sometime soon.... We had a wonderful vacation in New York - got lots of snow. It was a winter wonderland.

Thought this would be a great first photo for the new year. Her first time in pigtails and she had just finished her pasta dinner!!
